Weeknote 7 - 2026-08-23
A quick weeknotes this time, as I’m currently in a tent in North Wales. ⛺
I’ve been planning my days a bit more, scheduling my evenings to do things instead of just watching Netflix.
I’ve been reading Stroustrup’s ‘A Tour of C++’.
I had a go with Cursor at building an AI journal. I gave it a prompt and it made a decent proof of concept.
I was impressed with the speed, and that it worked first time.
I will try use cursor to extend it’s feature set and see how that goes. My feeling is that this sort of development is fine for prototyping and personal use projects, but wouldn’t be suitable for production.
I’ve been better at reading this week, making good progress on ‘The Signal and the Noise’. I’ve been reading most lunchtimes and a short bit before bed .
After not running for a little while due to Slovenia, I managed to get three runs in this week. The 10k is less than 6 weeks away, and I would like to get my pace up.

I have some interesting links to share, but I’ll save them for next week. Organising them on the phone is a bit tricky.
