Liam Asman's Blog

Weeknote 2 - 2026-07-10

I’ve blogged a lot this week, so I’m glad I’ve been able to keep it up.

They say it can take about 60 days to make a habit. Probably longer with something like blogging which isn’t done on a daily basis.

The other habit I’m trying to form is to exercise daily. Even just 15 minutes.

I’ve downloaded the FitBod (referral link) app. I like it because it adapts the plans if I’ve done other exercise, like if I’ve gone for a run. It’ll also give you a workout that’ll fit in the duration you want.

I’m no longer on-call! I still worked from home most of the week. Mainly because I knew the office air con wouldn’t be great with lots of people, but I need to go into the office to build motivation and energy, so it probably wasn’t the best idea to stay home until today.

I had several horsefly bites on my legs. My right calf had some good swelling. It’s mostly faded now. I will not stop walking through the meadows.

I have started reading The Signal and The Noise (affiliate link). It’s 400 pages but the font is tiny. Interesting subject, but it might take me a moment.

I’ve also ordered The Psychology of Software Teams (affiliate link) by Cat Hicks, and Careless People (affiliate link) by Sarah Wynn-Williams.

Kieran McGuire has made me aware of the Lunatask app. Tasks, habit tracking, and a personal CRM are all tools that are useful to me. Putting them all in one app might be useful, so I’m going to try it for a small while.

I’ve started watching ‘London: 2000 Years of History’ on Amazon Prime Video. It goes into some good detail about London’s history. It’s very interesting.
