Film Review: The Drama (2026)

Last night I saw The Drama, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, at Ljubljana Castle in a night showing ‘under the stars’.

I didn’t know anything about the film going in, and it brought plenty of surprises. I thought it had a good balance of light hearted humour and seriousness.

Zendaya and Pattinson gave excellent performances, but I was not convinced by Alana Haim’s character’s response and actions.

I jumped out of my skin a couple of times, and I really liked the editing. The blending of different moments and hypothetical scenarios worked really well.

I also really appreciated that the conflict of The Drama wasn’t brought on by the characters’ inability to communicate.

Overall, an enjoyable film, and one that could spark a conversation or two, but not massively moving or that I feel the need to preach about.
